Married couple get heads-up for WSOP-C title
Chris Moorman and Katie Lindsay took down a combined $33,953 but it was all about bragging rights over who could win the title.
Usually a marriage starts with a ring but this one might just end…..you get the obvious joke.
An online WSOP-C event in the US has ended with one of poker’s power couples getting heads-up against each other for the coveted gold ring.
Chris Moorman got heads-up against Katie Lindsay in event 14 of the WSOP-C Super Series.
Chris was the eventual winner taking down the gold ring and $19,510 first prize. His better half took down the runner-up prize of $14,443.
The couple told PokerNews they were playing the tournament from different rooms of the house. Lindsay told them:
There is no soft playing between us, we are always battling every time we end up on a table together, and we definitely showed that in this event. Once we got heads up I moved into the office where he was playing, as I thought it would be a fun dynamic to be able to see each other’s faces during hands.
This is not the first big feat by a poker power couple, in fact the game has had a lot of fun stories like this. There is Julien Martini and Kate Hoang who met when they got heads-up for a bracelet and later got marred. Liv Boeree and Igor Kurganov won Tag Team bracelets together. Maria Lampropoulos and Ivan Luca also got heads-up in the same event.
The couple to beat, however, is Alex Foxen and Kristen Bicknell who have both got heads-up against each other and won GPI titles in the same year,
