KL Cleeton gets his van

We recap some stories you may have missed including Phil Galfond talks fear of failure and Phil Hellmuth makes a remarkable fold.

KL gets his van

We have lots of scandals and feuds in poker but once in a while we get a feel good story, and one of those stories was when poker community favourite KL Cleeton was able to buy a van to get him to tournaments thanks to the generosity of poker players.

That van arrived yesterday and it looks pretty sweet. KL naturally chose to film the van arriving to share with the people who made it happen.

Look out for a classic line from a classic Will Ferrell movie to top the whole thing off:

Battle Royale Stats

Battle
Battle Royale

GGPoker must be as pleased with their Battle Royale format as this writer is, as they have released some early stats on them.

In the first two weeks of the launch the games had 282,100 entries. 80% of people played a second game after trying it and 28% of people have played 10 or more.

The average game lasts 53 minutes and 25 seconds and the biggest single prize so far (they vary because of the PKO nature) was $317.33.

Galfond on mental game

About once a year Phil Galfond writes something that the whole poker world sits back and really appreciates.

Brew yourself a coffee because that day is today. He posted a remarkable Twitter thread about fear of failure, being intimidated by solvers, mental game and the loss of his Father this year.

Apex Predator Shit

It has been a good week for poker Phils and this is the icing on the cake. Not only did Phil Hellmuth clean sweep Daniel Negreanu this week he managed this remarkable fold to a single raise against him:
